Wesley Rancher
Wesley is from Columbus, Ohio and earned his BA in Geography and Environmental Studies at Ohio Wesleyan University. As an undergraduate he gained interdisciplinary experience, where he participated in an NSF-REU, studying bee responses to climate change, and the NASA Develop National Program, where he mapped invasive plant species in southern Utah.
Currently he is investigating the dynamics of above ground carbon in Interior Alaska using Landsat, machine learning, and LANDIS-II. He is passionate about using his background in GIS, remote sensing, and spatial modeling to answer questions about ecological change. In the future, he aspires to generate scientific products and work which benefits the environment and society.
