Tom Brussel
His story
Tom grew up in Levittown, New York and received his B.A. in Psychology and B.A. in Environmental Science from SUNY Binghamton. He then earned his M.A. in Geography at the University of Wyoming and Ph.D. at the University of Utah. The foci of his graduate research was on linking paleoecological records to plant functional trait data to quantify functional diversity over long timescales at multiple spatial scales.
As a Postdoctoral Researcher in the TEEL Lab, Tom modeled Siberian ecosystem responses to climate change and wildland fire.
As of 2024, Tom is a Data Scientist at Driven Brands.
